The movie shows all of us with our inherent frailties and mistakes that we make and calls for compassion, but not strict adherence to the rules of Catholic church. I liked the movie because of the inner struggle of the main character and the human support which was given to him by his fellow priest, Matthew. Once while in car together and parked, they are found by the police and dragged to court which exposes the Greg's sexuality to the community and draws him apart. The other story line is with him meeting a guy Graham in a gay club and starting a casual relationship with him, all the time being dragged apart by contradictory and mixed feelings.
Greg is trapped between the seal of confession and his philanthropic desire to help the little girl. He advises her to talk with the father and tell him to stop, which leads to the father also confessing to Greg and explaining to him that incest is the most natural thing and that everyone deep down themselves wish to do it. The unlikely 1963-1989 tale of two cowboys in love burst into American consciousness thanks to an unprecedented wide release from Focus Features and a public starving for. First story line starts when he finds out from a confession of a teenage girl that her father is sexually abusing her. What You Need to Know: If one gay movie from this list changed the entire course of 21st-century gay cinema, it is Ang Lee’s 2005 masterwork Brokeback Mountain. A father Greg, homosexual, comes to a new parish and starts with his work there, in a small local community.
